Tarte released their Rainforest of the Sea collection a few weeks ago featuring everything from eye shadow palettes to lip balms. I happened to come across the collection one day while browsing Sephora. The colorful packaging was the first thing to catch my eye. I am a total sucker for colorful and fun packaging and lip products. I have more lipsticks than I know what to do with. But, that didn't stop me of purchasing Tarte's Quench Lip Rescue. I originally just purchased Rose, but after using it for three or four days, I needed more colors. I then purchased Nude, which I also love! This formula is so smooth and hydrating. I have not had to use chapstick since I discovered this product. I might have to stock up before the collection is gone!

What pieces are on your spring must-have list?

I'm loving the soft pastels in this week's spread. I never tire of mint and pink together. It's a rather slow week and I plan to enjoy the sunshine as much as possible. I hope everyone's week is going well so far!

I could not wait to get my hands on this month's Birchbox, They collaborated with Rifle Paper Co., and created a beautiful box. I love Rifle Paper designs and I am working on finding a permanent home for this box to be on display. Here's a look at what I received this month:
1. Marcelle 3-in-1 Micellar Solution. I have been using the Simple Micellar Cleansing Water for a few months now. Even after I wash my face I like to dampen a cotton ball with this solution to make sure any pesky makeup is fully taken off. I am excited to give this a try since it's a two in one, cleansing water and toner.
2. REN Keep Young and Beautiful Instant Firming Beauty Shot. I have heard quite a few reviews on this product and how great it is. Just last week, I discovered Derma E Firming Mositurizer, which I really like. Firming products must be on the rise.
3. Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask. I love a good hair mask. Over the weekend I colored my hair a bit lighter for the warmer months so this mask is sure to come in handy.
4. English Laundry Notting Hill Femme Eau de Parfum. This perfume contains jasmine, rose and green herbal notes, and is not for me. The smell is more suited for an older woman. It is not sweet like I was expecting.
5. The Beauty Crop PBJ Smoothie Stick. LOVE! First of all, the packing is adorable. There are little blenders all over. This lip stick goes on matte and does not move. The matte is not drying, but rather hydrating! It's amazing. I definitely need to find out if The Beauty Crop makes other Smoothie Sticks.

I have been on a DIY binge lately. The funny thing about all these DIY's is that I came up with the ideas while wandering around a craft store. I just happened to see items that would be perfect for tassel earrings or this arrow necklace display.
I had been trying to think of ways to organize and display all of my necklaces. I was originally thinking a cork board, since that would be simple, but I wanted something with a bit more eye appeal. I saw the wooden arrow in Michael's Craft Store for about $6. I instantly knew this would be the perfect piece to hang my jewelry on. I also picked up some screw hooks for about $2. After a quick coat of white paint, an hour or so of dry time, I then placed the hooks every few inches. This project was so quick and easy. I love a good DIY that also is not time consuming.

I never considered myself a collector of anything. I knew people who collections little bells or snow globes from all the places they visited. During a little spring cleaning session I noticed I had saved postcards from various places such as a weekend visit to Boston or some of my favorite paintings from the Met. I had stored a few post cards here and there. When I complied them all together, I have about 50 different postcards. Going through them reminded me of a specific day with my cousin or a really fun dinner with friends. I am so glad I saved them all and cannot wait to pick up some more along my travels to have as keepsakes. What do you collect?

In January, during my first work trip (read more here), my co-workers discovered this amazing brand, Sugarfina. Sugarfina creates delicious and high end sweets. My boss was hooked on the Single Malt Scotch Cordials, and soon even everyone at the office was obsessed. I was doing some research on this brand last week and decided to sign up for their emails. When you first sign up, you are given a code for a free item with any $25 purchase. Sign me up! I choose the Single Malt Scotch Cordials, Maple Bourbon Caramels, Champagne Bubbles, and Sugar Lips. Each one is so delicious! Everyone who stops by my apartment tries these goodies and they are hooked! I plan on sending friends a box or two as birthday presents. The packaging is so cute and the hand written note added an extra special touch. Plus, candy and liquor, how can you go wrong!

I had my eyes on a pair of Baublebar tassel earrings for some time, but I just could not justify paying $28 for them. Last week, I went to Michael's Craft Store for one item. I walked out with 5 items, including two pieces to help me create my own tassel earrings! For me, Michael's is just as bad as Target. While I was wandering around the store, I just happened to stumble upon a set of 6 tassels in beautiful colors, and they were 30% off! As soon as I saw them, I knew exactly what I was going to do. I made my way over to the jewelry section and purchased 60 fishhook earring pieces for $3. I was able to make 6 pairs of tassels earrings all for about $7! Talk about a deal! Making these beautiful statement pieces was so easy and took no time at all.
Here's what you need:
~ A pair of small needle nose pliers
Here's What To Do:
With a small pair of needle nose pliers, gently open the earrings loop and slide the tassel on. Gently close the earring back up and Voila! You have a beautiful, handmade pair of tassel earrings in minutes! I told you it was easy.

I have heard of the elusive Target Beauty Box, but this is the first time I was able to grab one before they sold out. This beauty box cost $7 and I am pretty impressed with all the samples. The sunscreen is perfect for this time of year. I was wishing over the weekend that I had a small size to keep in my bag. I am also very excited to try the Laneige Gel Mask and Marlow Body Butter. I am very curious about the Pantene Air Spray. I don't often use hairspray, but if I could find a brand that didn't leave my hair so crunchy I would probably use it more. Have you ever received the Target Beauty Box? What did you think?

I am a sucker for anything Breakfast at Tiffany's related. I used to watch this movie on repeat, and I wanted nothing more than to be Holly Golightly and keep lipstick in my mailbox. When I saw this Tiffany Limited Edition Kit on Instagram from Sticker Sunshine, I watched her shop like a hawk so I could scoop it up as soon as it went on sale. My favorite part of this kit are the deco stickers. How cute is the croissant?! Sadly, this kit is no longer available, but I did find a cute kit from Tricky Sticky Stickers. Hope you have a wonderful week!

When it comes to trying new flavors of anything, I am always game. My office is all about it as well, which makes for a fun half hour of taste testing when a new Lay's flavor comes out. Most recently, I have been on the hunt for the three M&M flavors you can vote on to keep one around. Yesterday, I finally found all three at Walgreen's and they were on sale! Cha-ching!
After much deliberation and eating a whole bag of each with the help of my co-workers, here are my thoughts on the flavors:
Honey Nut: Each M&M has a slightly different taste. My first bite was a peanut buttery flavor and the second was sweet honey. I like the Honey Nut a lot, but compared to the classic Peanut M&M I'd didn't think there were too many differences.
Coffee Nut: I love coffee, but I had heard the coffee taste is not very strong. (I spent a good half hour reading Facebook comments last night.) I completely disagree. The coffee flavor is front and center with this M&M.
Chili Nut: To be completely honest, I was a little bit afraid to try this one. I love spice, don't get me wrong, but I just wasn't sure what to expect. When you first try this M&M, you think it's a fluke. There is no spice, no kick, no thing. Then once you have almost completely eaten it, the spice sneaks up on you. Bam! It's not anything too spicy, but it definitely gets your attention.
My two favorite are Coffee Nut and Chili Nut, and since I have to vote for just one, Coffee Nut is my winner. At the office, everyone really liked Chili Nut. Have you tried these fun flavors? What did you think?

Last month, as a little birthday gift to myself, I made my first Diptyque purchase. I have been wanting to order some Diptyque candles for quite some time now, but could never justify the price. But.. for my birthday I bent the rules a bit. Diptyque offers this great set for $96 featuring mini candles in the three top selling fragrances: Roses, Baies, and Figuier.
I burned Roses first and the soft floral scent filled up the apartment. It burned very slowly and evenly. I find that an even burn is always the hardest thing to come by. For the past few days. I have switched to Baies, which so far has been my favorite scent. It has the sweet scent of roses but the addition of blackcurrant leaves really gives it an extra edge. The smell is sweet, but not overly so.
I am very happy with my purchase. A good splurge is fun every once in a while, especially when you end up loving what you buy. I don't see myself purchasing these often just because they are pricey, but for special occasions or if there is ever a sale, I will be sure to tag advantage.

Everything is coming up bells!? Bell bottoms are making their way back into the fashion scene and bell sleeved tops are quite the trend. I love the 70s/retro feel of this look, while still maintaining a style that is very today. I have been on the hunt for a bell sleeve top, but nothing I have seen or tried on is what I'm looking for. I do love to top pictured, and I was originally thinking I wanted a white one, but now baby blue might be in the running. I love pairing pastels with pastels. The light pink watch strap and soft blush would make this a perfect spring afternoon look.

Hello! Another week, another weekly spread! (I apologize for all the sticker related posts lately! I promise for more diverse posts in the coming days.) Sadly, spring does not seem to be here just yet, but this spread is so cheerful it makes the lack of spring a little more bearable. I really like the soft colors of this weeks spread and especially love the deco stickers. I don't often decorate as much as I would like to, specifically along the bottom washi, but I have slowly been adding more decorative stickers to my collection.

I have always loved surrounding myself with things that I love and things that inspire me. My desk at work is no exception. A few months after I started working at my job, I decided to give my desk a color theme. I first talk about it here. I choose mint and gold as my colors and incorporated little things here and there to brighten up my work space.
While fresh flowers are not always on display at my desk, I do have permanent staples such as my favorite hand cream of the moment, a little bowl of treats for that sweet craving, thank you cards to send out quick notes, and colorful birthday cards from loved ones. And, of course, work essentials like tape, notebooks, pens, and a stapler. I picked up the gold stapler and tape dispenser at Hobby Lobby.
Do you have any desk essentials? I would love to hear about them!
