Festival Style: Coachella

All weekend my social media feeds were swamped with Coachella. The funny thing about Coachella is that it seems to be more about the clothes and less about the music. I can tell you two artists who were there, Madonna and Drake. And apparently they made out. Going to Coachella would be fun, but honestly the only FOMO I have about the whole thing is not being able to see (read: Instagram) the sunset behind the Ferris wheel. That image gets me every time. But, just because I'm not there, doesn't mean I don't think about what I would wear!

Unboxing: March Birchbox

I have been majorly slacking! I just went to write a post for the April Birchbox and I realized haven't posted the March one yet! Terrible, just terrible! Okay, well let's get to it! First, how cute is the March box! I am loving the different box designs each month. Wait until you see April's! Alright, now onto the product reviews!

Vasanti BrightenUP!. I am so so excited about this product! I have been looking for a fine exfoliator. I have used St. Ives Apricot Scrub for years. It's easy to find at any drugstore and it's cheap. Done. But I recently learned it is so bad for your skin! The exfoliating beads are too big and will ultimately damage the sensitive skin on the face. This Vasanti scrub is heaven! It feels amazing and I saw a difference in my skin in just a few days. I will definitely be purchasing the full-sized version soon!

Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle. The product name is a tongue twister, but it is awesome! I have tried this before and have repurchased it multiple times!  It detangles your hair with just a few sprays and does not leave any residue. It smells sweet like candy, but the smell does not linger, which I don't mind since I prefer a fresh scent for hair products.

Temple Spa Face & Body Balm. I am not a huge fan of this product. The smell is not my favorite, but the lotion is light and does soak right into my skin. Maybe I would enjoy this product more when I  really need to unwind and relax, since this product is specially made to calm and bring inner peace. :)

Jelly Pong Pong Glow Getter Highlighter. Another major tongue twister. I am beginning to think the more difficult it is to say, the more I like it. I may have to do a study on this. I do not normally use a highlighter in my daily routine, but this product is so easy to apply and subtle enough to wear during the day or night for a healthy glow. The applicator is basically a nail polish brush. I just brush it right on my check bones and blend. It goes on so smooth and adds the perfect amount of shimmer.

Harvey Prince Hello Perfume. This perfume is very light and citrus-y. It is not a scent I would normally gravitate towards, but on a crisp spring day, it might just be perfect. I will have to test it out a few more times before I make a final decision.

What did you get in your March box?

Ulta Haul

A few weeks ago, while I was home on (my last) Spring Break, I stopped into Ulta to look around for a new lip product and some eyeshadows. Lucky for me, Ulta was having their amazing "buy one, get one half off" deal on almost every drugstore brand! I ended up with a handful of great items.

I had heard great things about the NYX Butter Lipsticks so I figured I give them a try. I went for an everyday color I could throw on and a more daring color. Little Susie is the perfect shade of pink to welcome in Spring, while Hunk will be fun for a night out. Both have a bit of sheerness to them so the color is not as overwhelming as it looks in the tube. The formula is very smooth and so hydrating.

A few years ago, I invested in the Urban Decay naked palette and it was the best $50 I've ever spent. The only issue is when it comes to traveling. It is a little big and I am so worried I'm going to break the shadows. I have been trying to find a good travel size eye shadow with colors I will use. Sometimes, I stumble across a great palette, but there are one or two colors that I am just not a fan off. Then I found the Revlon ColorStay ShadowLinks! They are the perfect size and you can create your own palette by sliding them together. Genius! They are very pigmented and truly last, even without a primer. I think I may have to grab another one in a slightly darker shade to complete a smokey look.

Lastly, I picked up a nail polish. I was in need of a pale pink shade. I bought Essie's Figi last year, but it has gotten so sticky and clumpy. The day I went Ulta just happened to have all of their nail polish on sale for $2! I was surprised I didn't walk away with more than one, but I have been trying to buy things just to buy things. Sometimes my retail therapy can get a little out of hand. :)

March Favorites

Happy April Fool's Day! Once again, the past month has flown by! Here are my favorite items for the month of March!

Mario Badescu Facial Spray. This facial spray is amazing! It instantly refreshes my skin and smells wonderful. I happened to stumble upon while wondering around Ulta a few weeks ago. Best accidental find ever.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. I have tried many, many foundations. I am so happy to say I have found the foundation/tinted moisturizer that I will keep going back to. The formula is lightweight and builds perfectly for light to full coverage. It also has SPF, which makes this the perfect foundation all year round.

Chanel Nail Polish in Tapage. I was always skeptical of Chanel nail polish. I have tried designer beauty products and been very disappointed. Sometimes, the name does not add up to the quality you would expect, but this is not true for Chanel polish. It goes on so smoothly, it is not too thick and have great coverage with just one coat.

Jouer Lip Enhancer. I have never had the desire for super plumped lips, and in all honestly I did not realize that was one of the purposes of this product. I had just heard such good things about how hydrating this product is so I wanted to try it out. I do not notice any lip enhancing, which is fine by me, but my lips definitely feel super moisturized after just one use.

Tocca Hand Cream in Giulietta. I have been using this hand cream regularly right before I go to bed. I have a few items next to my bed I like to put on, such as Chapstick and this Tocca cream. It is a light cream with a subtle smell that is perfect to soothe my hands before falling asleep. I find doing this has made my hands so much softer over the past few weeks.
