Guess Where I Am?!

New York City! I am here registering for classes. My girl friend came with me to make a little trip out of it. I still cannot believe I will be living here in less than a month!
We arrived very early this morning and did some wandering, grabbed brunch at one of my favorite restaurants, did some damage at a few shops,  and we are now getting ready to head out to dinner. It's been a long, but wonderful day! I'll keep you updated on the rest of our adventures!

Dawn

Not knowing when the dawn will come
I open every door;
Or has it feathers like a bird,
Or billows like a shore?

Flowers in the Park

These shorts were a major find! Hidden away on the sale rack at Target, I somehow found them, and they were an insane deal! The only down side is that they are a tad too big, but luckily, a belt does the trick. A few weeks ago, I went to see a play at the park. Each summer a theater group puts on two Shakespeare plays for free! It is a great way to spend a summer night. You can pack a little picnic and blanket to sit in the grass and enjoy a wonderful performance. I saw Richard the Third, which I had never read or watched before. It was very interesting. There was death, power struggles, amazing monologues, and of course, Shakespeare's witty one liners. Next week, A Midsummer Night's Dream starts. That is one of my favorite plays by Shakespeare so I can't wait.

Little Gems

If you take a look at the tabs above, you may notice there is a new tab labeled 'Shop.' I love delicate pieces of jewelry, but I can never find what I am looking, so I thought I would create my dream jewelry. I call my creations Little Gems. I hope you like what you see!

Visit the Shop tab for more information! Enjoy!

Aqua

Since my recent purchases in DC, it has been easy to decide what to wear when I'm going out. Each summer, I say I'm going to invest in more dresses, but this is the first time I feel like I have actually done that. The good thing about this dress and the other gorgeous blue one I picked up at Forever 21, is that I am already planning on what to pair with them to transition into Fall. I love finding pieces that have the possibility to be worn throughout the year.

Lace & Gold

Lace makes everything feel more delicate, girly, and flirty. I picked up this beautiful lace top from H&M about two years ago. I clearly do not put it to enough use, but I feel that is all going to change, especially this Fall. I hung out with some friends the other night and threw on my favorite linen shorts. To keep warm without needing a sweater, I paired my navy shorts with this lovely cream top and gold accessories. I felt summery and put together.

DC Shopping Haul

For some reason, whenever I'm on vacation I never feel guilty about spending money. It could be because I have set money aside for the trip to spend on food, drinks, souvenirs, shopping, etc. But when I'm home and spend money, I feel terribly guilty. With that said, on my recent trip to DC, I went shopping and didn't feel an ounce of remorse. It helped that I found some great pieces, and for a great price too!

Both dresses were purchased from Forever 21. They are great dresses for the summer with the light flowy material. The best thing about these lovely dresses is that they were both under 20 dollars! I picked up the peplum top from H&M. I have wanted a peplum top for the longest time! I scoured the racks to find this top. I'm so excited to play with this top!

Art Appreciation

To escape the 100+ degrees days in DC, we spent afternoons inside air conditioned buildings. One day it was inside Forever 21 and H&M, another a bar, and on one particular day we made our way to the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. The major exhibitions were interactive. You could go inside them and touch them. My favorite was the Suprasensorial: Experiments in Light, Color, and Space. Here are a few photos for our adventure in the museum.

Wild Animal

I was a little adventurous one night in DC. The girls and I were ready for a fun night out on the town. I have had this sheer leopard top for years. I love the sleeves and the ruffle detail down the front. I usually wear a black cami underneath, but it was so hot, even at 11 o'clock at night, I decided to get a little wild and just wear a black bra. I never get too risky with my outfits, but with the heat and the sweat, I just went for it.

It was fun to wear something a bit out of my comfort zone. It was actually quite liberating, and I felt very confident. I might have to take a few more fashion risks, but don't worry nothing too crazy.

You Smell Lush-ly

I bought a bunch of little goodies from Lush forever ago! A store opened in my mall and I was so excited when I saw it, I dragged my girlfriend in with me and went a little crazy. I picked up a few bath bombs and love each one's delicious smell.

Rocketeer
The bath bomb smells like candy! I am looking forward to using this because when it fizzes it moves around the bathtub- just like a rocket! And it turns colors! It starts out blue then turns yellow and then green!

Rose Queen
Of course, I had to get a bath bomb called Rose Queen. I love the smell of roses. This smells like a rose garden and it has real rose petals in it!

Space Girl
This bath bomb smells sweet and delicious. It is made with grapefruit oil which refreshed and tones. There is a popping candy in it that fizzes and crackles in the water. I love that these bombs smell pretty and are fun!

The Mum Bubble Bar
I cannot describe how amazing this bubble bar smells. I feel like I am sitting in the middle of a field full of tulips when I smell this. What I really like about this bar is that you can use it more than once, which is very exciting because I definitely want this bubble bar to last!

The weather has been beautiful lately so I haven't wanted to jump in the bath, but on the next rainy day I will be relaxing with a bath bomb and a good book.
