African Safari

Last week, the temperature was starting to warm up so I was sporting lightweight tops with my new favorite jacket that I picked up while in NYC and flats. This week, we have hit record high temps so don't be surprised if you see an OOTD featuring shorts!
I found this amazing jacket at Forever 21 for $25! I love the color, the length, the pockets, and the fact that it has a hood! I have probably worn it everyday since purchasing it. When I paired the jacket with the slouchy green top, also from Forever 21, I immediately felt like I was ready for an African safari adventure.

I love how the necklace, watch and bracelet make this outfit casual chic. The coat is so versatile. I can dress it up or down, and it will go with anything in my wardrobe because of its neutral color. Best find yet for Spring must haves!

What I Wore:
Jacket- Forever 21
Sweater- Forever 21
Necklace & Bracelet- Forever 21
Jeans- Levi
Flats- Cole Haan

Clearly, Forever 21 clothing and accessories makes up a majority of my wardrobe! What's your go-to Spring item so far?

GlassesUSA: Geek Is Chic

A few months ago, I was contacted by GlassesUSA.com. The company asked me to order glasses and review my experience. At first, I was a bit skeptical as to how I would buy glasses from an online site. But as I played around on the site a bit, I found they had a solution for my skepticism. GlassesUSA has this awesome feature called the Virtual Mirror. You can upload a picture of yourself and try the eyeglasses on, virtually, of course! It is the coolest idea! I played around with that for at least two hours! I must have "tried on" every pair of glasses... twice! Check it out!!!

I found so many styles and frames that I loved, but one pair really stuck out. I decided to order the Jodi Brown. I loved the shape and color of these glasses. Aside from the amazing details of my glasses, the best part was the price! The cost of my glasses including lenses was $67.00! That is incredible! I don't think I have ever paid less than $150.00, if not more than that, for prescription glasses. For that price, I could buy two pairs of glasses from GlassesUSA!
GlassesUSA makes buying glasses affordable, with a 110% lowest price guarantee. There is always a great sale going on. Right now, all of their glasses are 30% off plus free shipping (Code: SPRINGSAVINGS)! To take 10% off any order, use the code Blog10! Another bonus the company offers is their generous refer-a-friend program, and if, for any reason, you are not happy with your purchase, there is a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
GlassesUSA has so many styles and colors to choose from. There is a pair of glasses for everyone! Over the past few months, I have started to notice the glasses trend. More people are wearing glasses to show off their style. They are not just a necessity, they are an accessory. One of my favorite glasses trend is the wayfarer style. I have had my eye on a few wayfarer style glasses on the website, and I am thinking it is about time I order them. In the meantime, I am very happy with my Jodi Brown. Here are a few pictures!

My everyday look.

A fun, preppy look.

A goofy photo I just had to throw in there. :)

I am truly in love with my glasses. I am so glad to have been contacted by this awesome company, and I cannot wait to order from them in the future. Everyone I have spoken with and emailed back and forth with has been so helpful and friendly. I definitely recommend GlassesUSA, for not only awesome and affordable glasses, but for great customer service. Follow them on Twitter and Facebook for the latest updates!

NYC Brunch

Saturday was probably my favorite day spent in the city. I was able to spend the whole day with my great friend from college, Emily. We wandered for hours going here, there, and everywhere, and had a blast. The weather was beautiful that day,so a light sweater was all we needed until about dusk.
I meet Emily at her dorm around noon so she could show me around before we headed out to grab lunch. Our first stop was this great restaurant called The Penny Farthing. We stopped in for a bite to eat before we began our day long adventure. I am used to having lunch around noon, but in the city, noon on a Saturday equals brunch. I had never had a NYC brunch, but always wanted to see what all the hullabaloo was about. I was so excited when we were handed a menu filled with delicious brunch options. It took us an abnormal amount of time to decide on what we wanted. When we finally did come to a decision, neither one of us could wait for our plates to arrive. Our meals included a mimosa, which was my favorite part. While we waited and as we ate, we chatted about how we were doing, our families, and all sorts of things. It was so nice to catch up and reminisce on out crazy college memories. The food, the drink, the company, and the environment made for a perfect NYC brunch.

Serendipity 3

My first full day in the city was a busy one! I was able to sleep in for the first time in weeks. Once we were up and running, we grabbed a pick me up from Starbucks and made our way to Serendipity in hopes of getting a table without having to wait for 1 to 2 hours. The last time I was in the city we tried stopping in, but the wait was outrageous.
We made it to Serendipity around 4pm and with fingers crossed I walked in to ask the wait time. I was beyond excited when I heard the words "5 minutes." I could not believe it! We had picked a great time to go. We waited for a few minutes before we were seated. When we got to our table, I was so excited and just kept looking around at all of the decorations. My girlfriend came up with a perfect description of Serendipity. The atmosphere is like a scene from Alice in Wonderland. There were little trinkets and knick knacks everywhere and numerous stained glass chandeliers scattered on the ceiling that created a whimsical feeling.

My favorite part of the Serendipity experience was definitely the menu. It was a gigantic menu covered in doodles and beautiful lettering. I was so distracted by the playful menu that I had a hard time deciding what to order.

Serendipity is famous for their frozen hot chocolate, so, of course, I had to order one. It was phenomenal! It was so rich and chocolaty! Like nothing I have ever had before! I also order the Monet Salad. It sounds just as beautiful as it tastes. It was full of all kinds of fruits, such as strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries. There was also almonds, gorgonzola, tomatoes, and mushrooms all a top of field greens. Delicious!
If you ever get the chance, I definitely recommend stopping in Serendipity if only to see a piece of Alice's Wonderland. And if you can handle the wait, the frozen hot chocolate is well worth it!
Have you ever been to Serendipity?

Buttery Soft Lips

I have been meaning to put up this post for some time, but things just kept getting in the way. But I have some free time now before my girlfriend and I head out to her favorite NYC flea market. (Yes, I am in the city!) I picked up the Raspberry Pie Revlon Lip Butter at my local Ulta a few weeks ago. I had heard great things about the lip butters since it seemed like everyone was reviewing them, so I had to give them a try. When I found the lip butters, they were very picked threw. Clearly, they have been flying of the shelves. I always gravitate towards plummy pink colored lips, so naturally I picked Raspberry Pie. I went home and used it later that night for a out with some friends. As soon as I pit it on, I knew I was going to have to purchase more colors. The feel was so smooth and soft. The color was gorgeous and my lips felt so hydrated! Everything they claim in the ads is true!

A few days later, I received a coupon in the mail from Ulta and off to that wonderfully dangerous store I went. I picked up two more lip butters, Cherry Tart and Peach Parfait. I love Cherry Tart. It is another great red that I am so happy to have in my collection. I have definitely worn this color the most. I like the soft color of Peach Parfait, but I am not a fan of the glitter so I haven't worn this color more than once. I am a bit disappointed I didn't take a more careful look, but I am thinking this will be a good summer color. Shimmer and summer seem like a good combination.
Have you jumped on the lip butter bandwagon? What are your favorite colors?

Stay tuned for many NYC posts to come!
