Ulta Haul

I have been wanting to pick up some new neutral eye shadows because my favorite palette by Tropez in Bali Blue filled with beautiful gold and champagne colors has been used up completely. When I went to Ulta a few days ago, I discovered everything from the Ulta line was on sale. I took full advantage of the awesome discounts and picked up some great single shadows and of course, some more nail polish!

{From left to right: Pinata-Yada-Yada, Sun-Sational, Eye Popping Poppy}

I saw the glitter polish and I was so happy! I have been looking for a multicolored glitter nail polish similar to Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday for a long time. I finally found it, and it was a sliver of the price of Lippman's. Each nail polish was only $2! The bright yellow polish is so fun and I can't wait to try it out along with the gorgeous poppy color!

{Top row: Calla Lily, Silk, Lustre. Bottom Row: Gold Leaf, Cafe Ole}

I love golds and browns and champagne colors for my lid. These colors are perfect and are very pigmented. I have worn the shadows with and without eye primer and either way the colors show up beautifully. I love the Silk and Gold Leaf shadow. They are great a great combination! If you have never tried out the Ulta shadows I definitely recommend it.

What is your favorite nail polish and eye shadow? Have you ever tried any Ulta brand products?

NOTD: Bam-Blue-Zled

I stopped in Ulta the other day to pick up some necessities, and I noticed that all of the Ulta brand make up and nail polish was on super sale! I asked why everything was such a great deal and it's because Ulta is getting new packaging for their line so they want to get rid of the old products to make room for the new. I was in a bit of a hurry so I looked around for a minute and saw this beautiful nail polish. It was originally $7, but on sale for $3. The color is a blue-ish purple called Bam-Blue-Zled (I love nail polish names), and it reminds me a lot of Essie's Smooth Sailing from the Braziliant collection. I love this color and Ulta polish in general. The polish is very thick and creamy and I only had to do two coats to get the rich color. And it hasn't chipped after an entire week of craziness! This is my first time using Ulta nail polish, but I definitely will be using it again. In fact, I went back to Ulta a few days ago and picked up some more polish and some eye shadow singles that I will do a haul on very soon.

Bam-Blue-Zled by Ulta

If you have an Ulta near you definitely stop in and pick up some products from their line. Have you ever tried Ulta nail polish? What do you think of this color?

Shopping Haul!

As promised, here is my shopping haul post! I found so many great pieces for my vacation (I leave in one week!), and pieces that will be great for the fall as well! I have been shopping here and there for a few weeks for clothes to bring on vacation and any other pieces that catch my eye. I purchased a majority of the items from Old Navy and Forever 21 .

{Sheer & lace cami, Marshalls, $14.99}
I love this top. I think it will look so cute over a white tank top and jean shorts. This would also be a perfect cover up for the beach paired with jean shorts.

{Floral Bib Top, $13.50, Forever 21}
The colors and the lace bib make this top perfect for fall. I would pair this with a navy skirt and a cream blazer. But for now, I am wearing it with navy or tan shorts. The material is so light, soft, and flowy. Definitely a great find.

{Butterfly Sleeve Top, $15.80, Forever 21}
I love the pattern on this top. It reminds me of a Monet painting. This top is a bit sheer so I would definitely wear an off white tank top under it. This is another perfect fall piece that would look amazing with olive green skinny pants. I have been trying to find a pair so if you know any stores that carry them let me know!

{Pink & White Stripped Top, $15.80, Forever 21}
The lace on the shoulders is what made me fall in love with this top. At first, I loved the thick pink and white stripes, but then I noticed the lace detail on the shoulders and I was completely sold. I have worn this a few times already. Once with a pair of beige shorts, and another time with olive green shorts that you will see momentarily, but again, I think this top would look great with olive green pants for the fall.

{Rolled-Sleeve Scoop Neck, On sale for $12, Old Navy}
I have a thing for stripes... and neutral tones. I saw this and I had to have it. The material is so soft and I love the way if fits. It's a bit big, but I love the slouchy look. I'm thinking of wearing this on the plane because it's always a bit chilly. I would pair this with my periwinkle shorts from the Gap for a pop of color.

{Summer Fun Short, Forever 21, $14.80}
Love these shorts. The color will be great for those warm September days paired with my beige Keds and the pink and white stripped top.

{Floral Print Shorts, $15.80, Forever 21}
I searched for a long time to find the perfect pair of floral shorts. These are so cute and so light it's like not wearing anything at all, which is perfect on hot summer days. I have already worn these adorable shorts and posted an OOTD here.

{Pleated Trouser Shorts with Belt, On sale for $11, Forever 21}
These shorts are the same soft and light material as the floral ones so I instantly loved them. Plus, they were on sale. These will also be great for warm fall days. I would pair these with the Floral Bib Top. I would tuck in the top and wear my brown t-strap sandals from Forever 21 or my nude peep toe pumps from Payless. For cooler nights, a cream blazer would look great with this outfit.

{Tan Pleated Shorts with tie belt, On sale for $7.99, Old Navy}
I love the tie belt that adds a soft detail. These shorts were a great find and will be great for when I want to dress up a bit, but still be casual at the same time.

{Zip Up Front Skirt, $9.50, Forever 21}
I picked this up because it was such a great deal and a basic piece for any wardrobe. I love the zipper, and it has pockets! I am going to bring this on my trip for when we go out to a nice restaurant. I have the perfect purple ruffle top to go with this skirt for a pop of color.

{Red Paisley Dress, On sale for $12.99, Marshalls}
I love the color and style of this dress. This would be a fun cover up for the beach or just a great dress to wear walking around the board walk and grabbing something to eat. I love how the top and bottom have different patterns. This dress is so flattering on I can't wait to wear it.

{Floral dress, $35, Bebe}
Whenever I go shopping, I am still always taking a peak at the dresses. I love dresses because they are so easy to throw on and just add one or two accessories. I love this dress because of the zipper and the princess cut top. It also has adjustable straps, which is always great. If I had a wedding to go to, this would be the perfect dress. But nice restaurant is another perfect place to wear this peach and red flower dress.

Wow, what a haul! I can't believe how many things I found and for such great prices too! What are your favorite pieces? Have you found any great deals on your shopping trips?

Gentle Reminders & Simple Truths: New Blog

I love quotes and pictures that make you think and can put a new perspective on things. Quotes have always been something I turn to when I am going through a rough patch or just need a dose of inspiration. Because of my love for quotes, I have decided to create another blog just for posting quotes and pictures that inspire, motivate, and provide us with simple truths and gentle reminders. I hope you will take a peak and let me know what you think. I would love it if you would also leave any quotes you would like to see posted. Quotes on anything and everything. :)

OOTD: Flirty Florals

I have been trying to find a cute pair of floral shorts since the beginning of summer. I found a pair I really liked at Target awhile back, but they didn't fit quite right. When I went shopping with my girlfriend, I hit the jackpot! I found these adorable shorts and so many other cute things at Forever 21. (I will be posting a haul very soon, I promise!) Not only were these shorts a great price, $15.80, they are so comfortable and fit perfectly.
I wore this outfit when I went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 last week. I know it's not a Gryffindor robe, but it did the trick. I love HP, but I never dressed up. I love seeing other people's outfits though. It's so fun! The movie was great. Non-stop action and pretty close to the book. I still can't believe it's over. I kind of want to read all the books from the beginning so I can relive the magic all over again. (So cliche, but so true.)

What I wore:
Forever 21 Floral Print Shorts, $15.80
Charlotte Russe V-neck in Creme
Forever 21 Skinny Belt, $2.50
H&M bracelets, $3.95 each
Forever 21 Aztec ring
Forever 21 T-strap sandals in Brown, $7.50

Do you have a pair of floral shorts? Are you a HP fan? Have you seen the movie yet?

Beautiful Braids

One of my favorite hair styles for this summer are braids. The standard braid, the French braid, the Fishtail braid, mini braids, etc. I love all the different looks you can achieve by adding a braid in your hair. I was recently watching one of my favorite beauty guru's on Youtube, Meganheartsmakeup, and she had the cutest, simplest little side braid ever. She has the best hair! Love it!

Celebs has also been rocking the braids this summer. Here are some of my favorite celebs sporting braids that can dress up or dress down any outfit.

I love Rachel Bilson's bohemian vibe that is complemented by the mini braids. This is one of my favorite looks. The braids add a fun and feminine feel.

Ashley Tisdale's fishtail braid adds an elegant feel to her look and allows the attention to be brought to her beautiful turquoise necklace.

Similar to Rachel Bilson's look, Blake Lively also effortlessly pulls of the feminine, fun mini braids for a casual beachy hair style. I like that she has multiple mini braids randomly placed and left to hang naturally with her wavy hair.

Nicole Richie dressed up her look with thicker braids pulled back into a messy bun. This look is perfect for going out. I would wear this hair style with a spaghetti strap or strapless dress to show off my shoulders and summer glow.

And this is how I like to wear my hair on most days. Pulled back into a loose braid with a few pieces of hair framing my face.

What is your favorite summer hair trend? Are you a fan of the braid craze that was erupted this year?

Beauty Products Haul and Review!

During my last two shopping trips I picked up some of my new favorite beauty products, and I am so excited to share them with you! So, let's get right into it!

L'Oreal Magic Perfecting Base, $12.99
After watching Elle's video on this primer on Elle&Blair.com, I definitely wanted to give this face primer a try. I have bought Smashbox Photo Finish in the past and I love it, but it is just too expensive. I have used this primer a few times already and it is definitely a great buy! My only issue is that it does make my face a bit oily. I am going to Ulta soon, and I will definitely be picking up some face blotting tissues to combat this minor issue, but other than that I definitely recommend this product!

Clinique Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder in Stay Beige, $20
This is the product I am most excited to tell you about! I have never been so excited and so in love with makeup! I have tried so many different foundations and each one had their pros and cons, but I only have great things to say about this foundation! It blends perfectly and gives me flawless, natural looking coverage. I love love love this product! Best 20 dollars I have ever spent! If you're looking for a great foundation definitely go to your nearest Clinique counter!

Clinique Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion, $14
I purchased this at the same time I bought the Stay-Matte foundation. It is another great buy! I used to only use the Mary Kay Blemish Control Toner, but I ran out a while ago so I decided to ask the wonderful girl who helped me at the Clinique counter if she could recommend a toner that also helped fight break outs. She told me about this product and I figured I would give it a shot. Although, it says its a clarifying lotion, it is definitely a liquid. I have used it twice a day, once in the morning and once at night, for a few days now and I can see a dramatic difference in my skin complexion and tone. It is my new favorite skincare product and I will definitely be buying this again when I run out, which will be in a long time because it's a huge bottle!

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Medium 25, $6.49
Aside from trying to find the perfect foundation, I have also been trying to find a new concealer. I have heard a lot of great things about the Fit Me line by Maybelline, so I decided to give their concealer a go. And boy am I glad I did! I love it! It blends and covers problem areas perfectly! If you are wondering whether to try the Fit Me line, I would definitely give it a try. If the concealer is this great, I bet the foundations are just as wonderful!

N.Y.C. Lip Sliders Tinted Lip Balm in Sugar Kiss
I found this at the Dollar Store of all places! I loved the color and have a thing for lip products so I picked it up. Plus, for only one dollar, how could I say no? It keeps my lips very moist and gives them just a hint of color. I may have to go back to find more colors!

Cosmetic Wedges, $1.99
I bought these because the girl who worked at the Clinique counter used them when she applied my foundation. It was a great tool and blended the pressed powder flawlessly. I knew I wouldn't like the applicator that comes with the foundation, so when I was at Target I picked up this bag of 32 wedges for $2. Pretty great deal!

Have you tried any of the products above? What did you think of them? What are some beauty products you have picked up lately?

OOTD: Nautical Knots

I found this amazing navy top at Target, and I immediately had an outfit put together in my head. I wore this look recently when my friend and I went on a little shopping excursion.( An H&M just opened at a mall near me, and we just had to go check it out! So be on the look out for a shopping haul!) I love this outfit because it incorporates the Nautical look without being over the top. I am in love with the skirt because the material is so light and soft. I think what made this outfit all come together are my boat shoes. They are so comfortable and I love the colors!

What I Wore:
Nautical Top from Target, on sale for $7.48
Skirt from Old Navy on sale for about $6
Vintage belt
Air Tali Boat shoes from Cole Haan $37

All together is look was about $50! Not to shabby. The only items I would add to this look for next time would be some gold knot or anchor earrings and maybe an anchor ring. What do you think of the Nautical theme? What jewelry pieces would you pair with this look?

July Birchbox!

It has finally arrived! I came home after a long and not so great day of work , and found a lovely bright pink box waiting for me on the counter. My day immediately turned around. I grabbed the package and ran upstairs so excited to discover what was in the contents of my July Birchbox! This month was rather unique because all of the products in the box were picked by designer Cynthia Rowley! I love everything is this months Birchbox, and I am so excited to try all of the products out!

I have already tired a few items in my Birchbox and I love them! This morning I washed my face with the Philosophy Purity facial cleanser. It left my face feeling so soft and looking bright and refreshed. I am definitely going to start using this on a daily basis. I have heard great things about Philosophy products, but have never tried any of them out before. I was looking at their website, and there are a few products I am very interested in trying out, one of them being Hope in a Jar. Have you ever tried anything by Philosophy?
This morning I also ate the Kind bar. It was delicious! I checked out the Kind website to find where I could stock up. There are so many different bars and they all look so good! I want to try the Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate + Protein and the Blueberry Pecan + Fiber. And I found a bunch of stores near me that sell them!
So far those are the only two products I have tried, but I will definitely be trying the rest out today! I can't wait to use the Korres shower gel with a new luffa I recently bought. The shower gel smells great! I am always stocking up on different scents from Bath & Body Works, but I'm excited to try something new. I am also really excited to try out the Redken Shine Flash 02. It is supposed to give your hair a "brilliant sheen." I will update my thoughts and opinions on the products as I use them!
The final product I received in my Birchbox was an eye brow pencil from Your Best Friend Beauty (ybf beauty). I have never used an eye brow pencil, but there's a first time for everything. I like that one end is the pencil and the other is a brow brush. So you have two products in one, which is less to carry around and you will always have both tools at your fingertips.
Are you signed up for Birchbox? What products have you received this month? If your not signed up, you should! For only $10 a month, it's a great way to try out and discover new products! I definitely recommend signing up! You can find out more information at Birchbox.com!

And don't forget to enter My First Giveaway! Only 6 days until a winner is picked! I am almost done finding the perfect goodies to send to one lucky winner!

What do you think about animal inspired jewelry? Do you have any fun animal rings, necklaces, or bracelets?

OOTD: Movie Night

Last night, one of my best friends from high school and I went to the movies and saw Monte Carlo! It was such a cute film! I may be 22, but I am sucker for any kind of film. Did you know they are making a new Winnie the Pooh movie? I will definitely be seeing it opening weekend! I grew up with Pooh Bear and Piglet, and I cannot wait to see their new adventure! Plus, age is just a number right?
Selena Gomez, Leighton Meester, and Katie Cassidy were prefect in the movie, and now all I went to do is go to Paris and have a whirlwind vacation of mistake identity. The movie was full of beautiful scenery, gorgeous ball gowns and, of course, the great actors. If you haven't seen it, I definitely recommend it. And if you have seen it, let me know what you thought about the movie.

Now onto the fun part of this post! What I wore. Yesterday, was so warm and so nice. I decided to wear my favorite pair of jeans shorts, a racerback striped top, and I threw a sweater in my purse in case I got cold in the movie theater. (Surprisingly, I never had to pull out my sweater. That was definitely a first.) I pulled my hair back into a low, messy braid. Applied minimal makeup, and was out the door.

I love the ruffle detail on the tank. It adds a feminine touch to what would be a rather dull stripped top if it weren't there. I have been putting my hair in a loose braid for a few weeks now, and it has become one of my favorite looks. I will be doing a hair post on braids in the next few days so be on the look out. What do you think of this casual night out look? What would you wear to the movies?

Racerback tank from Target
Jean shorts from H&M
Vintage brown weave belt that was my dads
On my feet I wore brown t-strap sandals from Forever 21
