Neon Nails

Last summer, I bought an incredible nail polish, and I have been patiently waiting for the sun so I could finally wear it. It is a bright and beautiful neon pink called Pink Voltage by China Glaze. It is out of this world bright! And I love it! It compliments my skin tone, especially in the Summer when my skin tans, and I have received so many compliments on the color, even from boys!

I love how my favorite turquoise ring looks with this polish!

How do you feel about bright neon nail polishes? What is your one favorite Summer polish?

FREE Album Download by The Rocket Summer!

I love Twitter! I learn so much from news stations, celebrities up and coming projects, fashion tips and sales, etc. The other day I discovered that one of my favorite bands, The Rocket Summer, has a free download of his acoustic album! I was so excited!!! You can download it here! If you have never heard of this band, definitely check it out! Amazing! The lead singer, song writer, and producer's name is Bryce Avery and he is a on man band! So much talent! My favorite songs are Save, So Much Love, Walls and Brat Pack! I love all of his songs, but those are my favorite!

Definitely, check him out and for a free album why not! Plus, it's a live concert that the songs were recorded from, and I have grown to love live albums, you really feel like you are there! Also, follow him and me on twitter!

I am not affiliated with The Rocket Summer, just a huge fan!!!

Purple Petals

I have been having so much fun with Spring nail polishes lately! I got this beautiful purple color in an E.L.F. set I bought at Target a few months ago. I talk about my beauty purchases here. I had almost forgot about these polishes, but during my move back home I found a few things tucked away while unpacking. I love this color. The polishes don't have names, but this purple color reminds me of lilacs, so I named it Purple Petals. :)

The one issue I had with this polish is that it was very light so I had to put on three or four coats. I am not good at sitting still after I paint my nails, so the fact that I had to sit still for a longer period of time was difficult, but other than that, I love my E.L.F. polish. I have had this color on for about a week and there has been minimal chipping. I definitely recommend it!
Do you have any E.L.F. products? What are your favorites?

Summer Clothing Haul

Yesterday, while on my one hour work break, I had the best shopping spree ever! And I spent under $55! The store where I work is located very close to the Canadian border and this weekend all the stores in the mall are having crazy sales for Victoria Day, which is a Canadian holiday. I hit the jackpot in every store I went into and came out with some of my new favorite summer pieces! And all for a great deal!

These shorts are my favorite items of all my purchases! I picked them up at Gap. They were originally $29.99, but on sale for $10! They are a beautiful bright pink! In love.

The deal was so great I grabbed a pair in a lilac/periwinkle color as well.

At Old Navy, I found this beautiful white top white delicate ruffled sleeves. It was originally $19.94, but on sale for $6.49. It would go great with either of my new shorts!

I also found this adorable skirt at Old Navy. I love that it has ruffled pockets, buttons and a draw string. it sounds like it would have to much going on, but together all the details are perfect! It was originally $26.50, but I got it for $5.97!

I have a thing for this style top. I used to think they were unflattering, but it all depends on where it hits your midsection and what you pair it with. The top I picked up at Old Navy as well. It was originally $19.94, but I got in on sale for $10.49.

Every time I see white cami for a good deal, I pick one up. You can never have enough white camis. But I have very specific needs when it comes to something so simple. I don't like when they have built in bras (they never fit right) and it needs to have adjustable straps. This cami had every and more. It came be worn two ways! On one side there is a v-neck and on the other it has a scoop neck! It's like having two cami's, but all in one! And it was only $5 at Charlotte Russe, originally $7.50.

My last item from my little shopping spree is these great pair of gladiator sandals. I have been wanting a yellow pair since the warm weather came around. I think it is a great pop of color, but also subtle at the same time. I found these at Charlotte Russe on sale for $5, originally $10.

I adore everything I found yesterday and have already had a chance to put together a really cute outfit. After work, my girlfriend and I went out for a bit to eat and have a drink. But before we headed out we stopped at her place to change. I wore my new white top with the ruffled sleeves with the lilac pair of shorts from Gap and the yellow sandals. I tucked just the front of the shirt into the shorts because it's a tad long, and it looked great!

What is your favorite piece? Have you found any great summer deals? I would love to know what your go to summer outfits are going be! Have a great day and happy shopping!

Must See!

Last night, I saw one of the greatest movies of all time! My two girlfriends and I went to see Bridesmaids and it is now my new favorite movie! I cannot say enough about how much I loved this flick! It was a hilarious, witty, and downright awesome kick butt comedy! Kristen Wiig was incredible and is my new favorite actress! I always loved her on Saturday Night Live, but her performance in this movie was beyond amazing!

Annie (Kristen Wiig) has hit bottom. Her bakery closed, she has no money, hates her current job, is sleeping with a loser, and on top of all that her best friend Lillian (Maya Rudolph) just got engaged and asked Annie to be her Maid of Honor. Annie excepts and from there on out, anything that can go wrong, does. I don't want to give away too many details because you should go see it! There are so many great lines and funny scenes, I was literally laughing through the entire movie! All the actors were perfectly cast.

Not only was the acting phenomenal and the storyline hilarious, the outfits were just as great. I wanted every single adorable dress Kristen Wiig wore. I am still on the hunt for Summer dresses and her outfits gave me such inspiration!
So if you haven't seen this movie yet, you have to! I mean it! Go! Today! You will love it! It is the perfect movie for a girls night! I can't wait until it comes out on DVD! I am going to buy it that day and have all my girlfriends over for wine, treats, and lots of laughs. The story, the actors, the hilarious one liners and even the clothes! There is so much to love! So get to the theater now and see what I'm raving about!

OOTD: Casual Monday

Last night, I meet a few friends out for wings and beer. After being cooped up in my house due to the rain, I was really looking forward to going out. I was planning on just wearing a t-shirt, but I saw the sheer top in my closet and figured I'd try it on because I hadn't since I bought it back in February. I had no intention of wearing it out last night, but I put it on and ended up creating one of my new favorite outfits. I bought the top from Nordstrom Rack when I went to visit my bestie in NYC! Check out my NYC posts here! Do you ever do that? You see something in your closet you haven't worn in a while, you throw it on just for fun, and then it ends up becoming your favorite piece for any occasion? Yeah, this top is going to be my go-to pieces for the Summer. It's a casual look that can definitely go to a dressy night look with a pair a heels and a blazer.

What I Wore:
White Sheer Top
V-neck Tank Top
My dad's old brown weave belt
Levi Skinny Jeggings
Cole Haan Air Bacara Ballets in Pumice
Snake Ring from Charlotte Russe

What are some of your go-to summer pieces? I am meeting up with a girlfriend at the mall later today, is it bad that I want to wear this same outfit again? Have you ever worn the same outfit two days in a row?

PS- Sorry for the lame photo. I hate taking pictures of myself in the mirror, but this outfit was too good not to capture. Next time I will have better photos, I promise!

Subtly Friece and Always Sweet

I do not consider my style edgy or rocker. It's not that I don't like that style, I just don't think I could pull it off. I prefer florals and pastels, but every once in a while I like to venture to the 'dark side', if you will. I will paint my nails a deep color, such as one of my favorite OPI colors, Midnight in Moscow, or wear a piece of jewelry that's a bit edgier. Whatever it may be, it's always small.
My girlfriend Molly and I hit up the mall the other day, and lucky for my bank account, not too many things caught my eye that day. However, when it comes to the accessory section in Charlotte Russe, I am weak. They always have great earrings, rings, and necklaces. Plus, 2 items for $8.00 is a great deal. Charlotte Russe understands the importance of combining a great pair of earrings with that to-die-for ring. Unfortunately, that day the only item that really jumped out at me was a gold snake ring. I love the soft cures of the snake's gold body. I think the ring is fierce, but not to in your face. It is definitely a "exotic" addition to my jewelry collection. I love it and have already worn it!
I also picked up what is now my new favorite summer polish. I told you I have an obsession. It is a bright coral color. In the picture below, it looks pink, but if you go to the second picture, you can see it's true color. The polish was $3.50 and if you bought one, the other was half off. I got the gorgeous coral, and Molly picked out a classic red. I love both items and paired together they are even better!

What do you think of pairing something fierce with sweet? Do you like to mix and match opposite trends?
Let me know in a comment below! Have a great day!

Blue Skies & Sunshine

I have been spending a lot of time outside this past week. The weather has been incredible! The sun is finally out and it is really starting to feel like summer is on its way. One of my new favorite ways to enjoy this weather is by going for hikes. This week alone, I have been on two hikes and I am loving it! Not only is it a great way to spend time outside after months of hiding under blankets for warmth, but hiking is also a great way to exercise! On Monday, I went for a long hike (I'm talking almost 4 hours here) at a state park minutes from ym house, and on Wednesday I went for another hike with my two friends Nicole and Kevin at the gorge in Niagara Falls. I had never been to the gorge, let alone hiking there so I was really looking forward to it. Little did I know, this would be my new favorite place to hike. The scenery is so beautiful and I was stopping every few minutes to capture the views. I took dozens of pictures, but below are a few of my favorites! Enjoy!

As you can tell from the photos, it was an incredible day for a hike! I can't wait to go again and find new places to get some exercise and enjoy the outdoors! What are some of your favorite outdoor summer activities?

Ulta Haul

I ventured into Ulta the other day, and despite wanting to go home with everything I saw, I made a few smart purchases.

I picked up Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleanser. It was only $7.99 and has been a product I have been wanting to try out for some time. I used it almost as soon as I got home. I have pretty oily skin, but it is very sensitive so certain products easily dry my skin out, which just makes my skin oilier. This being said, I was a little nervous to try a new product because my skin has been pretty nice lately. The first time I used this product, I immediately thought my skin looked brighter. I love smell of this cleanser and it lathers very nicely so it feels light and frothy when you are washing your face. After I cleanse my face, I usually put on Mary Kay Blemish Control Toner and then Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer. But since this was a new product, I decided to skip those steps to see how my skin would react. At first, my skin felt refreshed and moist, but after a bit, it started to feel dry so I put a dab of the Clean & Clear moisturizer on. Since then, I have used the Pink Grapefruit Cleanser almost once a day everyday. It says on the bottle to use it twice a day, but I don't want to dry out my skin, so once a day is prefect for me. I tend to use it a night so I can wake up to a refresh, bright face.

I also picked up one of my favorite mascara's. Maybelline Great Lash was the first mascara I ever used, but for the past few years I have been using the Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara. I love that mascara, but I ran out so I wanted to try something else. I saw Maybelline Great Lash when I was in Ulta and decided to try it out again. I am in love! This mascara goes on so well and does not clump at all. It makes my lashes so long and natural. I will probably continue to use this mascara forever, or least until I find something else I fall in love with!

The last product I purchased was Almay TLC Truly lasting Color Pressed Powder. I wanted to find a creme/powder foundation that I could thrown on to do touch ups or put on quickly when I'm on the go and don't want to go through my whole face routine. Unfortunately, this foundation did not do the trick. I found there was barely an coverage and it was pretty cakey. So I am still on the hunt for a new foundation. If you have any suggestions, please share because I love to hear about what other people use and love!
What are some recent beauty purchases you have made? Have you used any of these products? What did you think of them?

Fun fact: Over a year ago, I was selling Mary Kay products to make a couple extra dollars. I still use quite a few of their products including my staple beauty product, the Mary Kay Medium Coverage Foundation.
I have a ton of Mary Kay products left over from when I used to be a consultant. I have everything from eye shadows to lip gloss to face products. Would anyone be interested in a Blog Sale? Let me know in a comment below of that's something you would be interested in.
Have a great day! And thanks for stopping by! :)

Sparkle and Shine

I have a fairly new obsession with nail polish. Every time I am in a drug store, I always find myself browsing the polishes. I have collected an assortment of colors over the past few months, and I love every one of them. The two colors below were both purchased at Forever 21. I bought a polish or two from Forever 21 and was very pleased with all my purchases. I talk about some of my purchases in the past few months here. Up until the other day, my nails have been bare. In the past, this would not bother me or be thought of as odd, but due to my recent obsession, bare nails drive me crazy. I decided I wanted to be playful and fun with my nails. Spring is in the air so I wanted a color that was vibrant and cheerful, but I also wanted to add some pizazz. So, what is better than glitter to put a little sparkle and shine in your life.

{L.A. Flare, Magenta (left) and Love & Beauty, Glamorous Glitter (right); Forever 21, $2.80}

I love the bright Magenta polish on its own, but by adding the Glamorous Glitter over top takes it to a whole new level. I am not a big "glitter girl," but subtle glam here and there is always fun. I am loving this color combo and will probably add glitter over top some of my other Spring polishes.
What are your favorite Spring and Summer colors? Are you a fan of glitter nail polish?
