April Birchbox

I got my first Birchbox in the mail the other day and I am so excited to try all of the organic products! I have already tried three of the products and I really like them so far!

{All the goodies in my Birchbox!}

From left to right:
The Healthy Body Butter in Vanilla Lavender
LIV GRN- earth Eau de Parfum
Zoya Nail Polish Swatch and booklet &
Zoya Plish in Jules
Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel
Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair Moisturizer
Seed paper by Bloomin

I have not tried all of the products yet, but of the ones I have tried, I like. The Healthy Body Butter is great. The smell is fragrant and to me is a bit earthy, which is fitting due to the fact that it's organic. I used on my hands and it left them feeling so soft. The combination of the Vanilla Lavender and my skin leaves them smelling better than it does when in the container. I love when that happens because then the scent is more unique. This happens to be the case with the LIV GRN parfum as well. When I first sniffed the perfume, I was not a fan. It reminded me of hairspray, but when I tested it on my hand, the scent changed. It smelled more flowery and soft, and now I can't stop smelling my hand! The last product I have tried so far is the Zoya nail polish. I really like the quality of the polish. It is thick and goes on clean and smooth, the only thing I didn't love is the color. It washes out my skin tone, but other than that I am a Zoya fan. I would love to purchase the Caitlin (bluish-purple), Marley (soft purple), or Gemma (grayish-green) polish. And for $8, its worth it.
Another product I love is the Seed paper from Bloomin. Even though its not a beauty product, I love the idea! I am also a sucker for flowers, and I am very excited to plant my seed paper!
I am also excited to use the Juice Beauty products. I love trying new face products and I love masks. They really rejuvenate my skin and hopefully the Green Apple Peel will be a big hit!
This was a great first Birchbox! I am so excited to see what comes next month! Are you subscribed to Birchbox? If not, you should totally join! If you decide to do a monthly subscription, it's only $10 dollars! That's a pretty good bargain, especially for the great products you get to sample and the sizes are pretty generous. Hope you have a great day!

Here's the website if you want to look around and maybe subscribe!

Across the Border

A few weeks ago, my friend and I went on a little adventure to Canada to shop at the nearest H&M. Unfortunately, there is not an H&M in any of our local malls at the moment, but come this summer, one will be opening in the largest mall in my area! But we couldn't wait that long so we decided to head up to Canada. Once we got to the border, it was only a 20 minute drive to the mall in St. Catherine's, and we were shopping in no time!
My main shopping goal for this trip was to find cute summer dresses. But as luck would have it, whenever you are looking for something, you can never find it. I tried on a few dresses, but I didn't care for any of them. Instead I came home with a great pair of jean shorts, a classic button down, a bag I adore, and a simple belt. I am waiting for a bit warmer weather to wear the clothing items since Mother Nature has decided it should still be 40 and rainy in mid-April, but I am very excited to wear the shorts and shirt together to separately.

{Boyfriend button down in light pink, $14.95}

{Cuffed jean shorts, $24.95}

{Messenger bag, $29.95}

{Skinny belt, $6.95}

{Ardene scarves, 2 for $15}

After spending about two hours combing through every single rack at H&M, we walked around the rest of the mall and stumbled upon a great accessory store called Ardene. They had tons of cute flats and amazing scarves in every color and pattern. I had a hard time picking just two, but I love the ones I did pick. Clearly, I have a thing for floral. I can't wait to go back to H&M and Ardene again to do some more shopping! Hopefully I will find some great dresses next time! I'll keep you posted! :)

Reoccuring Phrases

Over the past few days, I have repeatedly heard the two phrases, "It's not where you are, but who you're with," and "It's not the destination, but the journey." I love both of these quotes and find them to be very inspiring.

Over the past three years, I have been in college working towards getting my degree so I can one move to NYC and find my dream job. I have made countless memories and had so many incredible experiences. I can definitely attest to the phrase, "it's not the destination, but the journey." I have also made so many wonderful friends, and without them my journey of the past three years would not have been as memorable, so when I hear "it's not where you are, but who you are with," I couldn't agree more. What fun is going somewhere and doing things if you have no one to share it with?

I think hearing these quotes has been a reminder than even when I am feeling discouraged and lost, the journey is not over and I always have great friends and family to turn to and continue the journey with. :)

Songs I am Loving Right Now

I love listening to the radio and discovering new songs and having the control to change the station so I can listen to a variety of different genres. I love every style of music from hip hop to classical to country. Here are a few songs I have been listening to on repeat! :)

Adele- "Someone Like You"

Mumford & Sons- "White Blank Page"

Florence & the Machine- "Cosmic Love"

Bruno Mars- "The Lazy Song"

T-Pain ft. Chris Brown-"Best Love Song"

Miranda Lambert- "Heart Like Mine"

It's definitely an eclectic group of songs, but I am in love with them all! I hope you enjoyed them! What are some songs you are loving right now? I love being introduced to new bands and songs, so send them my way!
