Dreaming of Summer

Dreaming of Summer
Dreaming of Summer by missmaryelizabeth featuring distressed shorts

I am so looking forward to wearing all of the above. I want to be bold this Spring and Summer with colors and mixing and matching textures and prints! I am in love with those coral shorts and cannot wait to find a pair. I also want to find a variety of gladiator sandals in every color and style! I adore the yellow pair! I am so excited for Summer and cannot wait to sport fun and relaxed outfits like the ones I created. :)

In the Nude

I love that nude shoes are in. I have been searching for the perfect pair of nude pumps for some time now. I first feel in love with nude pumps when I tried on a pair of nude wedges at work. I thought the style was cute, but I wasn't sure about the patent nude color. But I tried them just to see what they would look like, and I fell in love! Sadly, I did not buy them because I was saving up money for my trip to New York, and now they are all sold out, but I found a pair that the other day that I love even more!

I found these adorable pumps at Payless for the unbelievable price of just $26.99. They now have a lovely home in my closet. I have already worn them and they are so comfortable. Aside from being nude, they are also peep toe, which is my all-time favorite style. So fun and flirty!

These chic wedges are another must-have item. I never thought I could pull off wedges because I thought they made my calves look bigger than they actually are, which would be very unflattering, but I tried on a pair and they look so cute!

These patent nude wedges are almost identical to the pair I was drooling over at work. I might have to buy these. I would wear them with everything and they are so comfortable. I love how wedges give you height and stability. I never feel like I am going to topple when I'm walking around in wedges, which is definitely a plus seeing as I am so clutzy.

How do you feel about the nude shoe? What footwear are you looking forward to wearing this Spring?

Kiss Me, I'm Irish!

Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone!
I'm not doing anything too extravagent, but I definitely plan on going out for a green beer... or two! A bunch of my friends and I waited until tonight to get together to celebrate my birthday! But I just realized I don't have anything green to wear! So after class my girlfriend and I are going to hit the mall and try to find a cute green shirt and maybe even some shamrock earrings! :)
Hope you have a great day!

Thank you for the picture!

Birthday Bliss

I had a wonderful birthday. So many people wished me a happy birthday and I felt so loved. The weather was warm and perfect. My mom cooked me a delicious dinner and got me a beautiful cake. My brothers found the cutest birthday cards, and my littlest brother gave me the best birthday present that was a gift bag filled with little goodies. I could not have asked for a better day. :) Thank you all so much for a great birthday!

It's my birthday!

Happy birthday to me! Today, I am twenty-two! Ahhhhhh! I feel so old! Something about twenty-two sounds so much older than twenty-one, and I'm not sure how I feel about it.
This year I wasn't really excited about my birthday, and I didn't even have any birthday plans until last night. I am going to Duff's with a bunch of friends for drinks, chicken wings, and to watch the Sabres game! Its nothing fancy, but its the perfect way to spend the day! I loved waking up to texts and tweets and Facebook messages all wishing me a happy birthday. I feel so loved! And a major bonus is that the weather today is beautiful! The snow is gone and I can see green grass! That is honestly all I wanted for my birthday and I'm so happy my wish came true! Thank you Mother Nature!
Even though I cringe when I tell people I'm turning twenty-two, it is exciting to be getting older and knowing that I'm getting closer to finishing school, beginning my journey to find my career, and getting further into adulthood. As much as that idea can be scary and overwhelming, I have a wonderful family and incredible friends that I can count on to help me though anything! They have been by my side for twenty-two years and I know they will be here for the next twenty-two years and beyond! :)
Well, I'm off to write a quick paper on Karl Marx- very exciting birthday stuff! Then I have class, and afterwards I'm finally celebrating!
Hope you have a great day! I know I will!

Here's a quick haul of things I picked up at Target! I purchased mostly beauty products, and I had to get a top because it was adorable and on sale! :)

{24 Shadow Applicators, $1.99}

{E.L.F. 5-pack of Nail Polish, $4.99}

Rainy Days

Rainy Days
Rainy Days by missmaryelizabeth featuring a wooden umbrella

It has been rainy and dreary for days. I try to stay in on dull days like this, but when I do need to go out I like to throw on a pair of jeans with an oversized sweater. A trench is a must-have. I am going to have to invest in a chic trench this Spring.

What's In My Makeup Bag

I am in no way talented when it comes to make up. If I can manage to get my eye liner to look decent and even on both eyes, it's a good day. I do, however, where makeup just about everyday, and if nothing else, I always throw on a little foundation to even out my skin tone. I love to see how other people play with makeup. My one girlfriend, Missy, could definitely be a make up artist! She always plays with such fun and vibrant eye shadows! Me, on the other hand, if I am even wearing eye shadow, the colors are very neutral and subtle. That being said, my makeup bag isn't that exciting, but I am working up to playing with more colors.

On a normal day when I am going to class or work this is what I use:
-Mary KayConcealer in Beige 1
-Mary Kay Medium-Coverage Foundation in Beige 304
-Maybelline Mineral Powder in Light 2
-Tropez Eye Shadow set in Bali Blue. I just use a touch of the pink and the gold to cover my lid.
-NYX Eye Liner in Black 901
And lately, I have been throwing on a bit of Rimmel London Blush in 006 Autumn Catwalk

If I am going out or to a special occasion I will do the same as above, plus:
-Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara in Black
-Some of the deeper gold shadows from my Tropez palette
-NYX Lipstick in Snow White or Aerie Lipgloss in Pout or Spice

So there you have it. Pretty minimal and simple, in my opinion. I definitely want to branch out a bit and try using some different eye shadow colors. Maybe will Spring just around the corner I will pick up some fun colors and start experimenting. I have started to do a lot more experiementing when it comes to lip colors. I adore my NYX Snow White Lipstick and definitely want to try out some other fun colors, especially corals. I love how the NYX brand doesn't dry out my lips like other brands tend to. Another brand that I love for lipstick is Maybelline. Their Color Sensational line is very smooth and moisturizing.

What are some of your favorite brands? And what colors are you excited to test out this Spring?

Dancing in Dresses

Although, it is still 30 degrees where I live, I have been on the hunt for fun and flirty dresses that I plan to wear all through Spring and well into the very last days of Summer. Winter is always too long for me and after months of bundling up in shapeless, heavy clothes, I am beyond ready for warm weather. I cannot wait until the day when it is warm enough for me to wear a dress with a light jacket and flats, or better yet wedges! Yesterday, I wore my Keds for the first time since Fall, and I was so happy I was not wearing my bulky winter boots.
I am not a big fan or ordering clothes online, but I have been looking at all sorts of websites for inspiration and I might just have to start online shopping because there are so many great finds out there. Here are some fun dresses I found!

{Demin Pose Print Pink Tank Dress. $35.70}

{ASOS Cheesecloth Bandeau Mini Dress. $35.86}

{Art Decade Dress in Geometric. $47.99.}

{Quiet Blush Dress. Anthropologie. $168}

I want all of these dresses and more! But first I want some warm weather! What are you looking forward to wearing this Spring and Summer?
